Some moments stay with you not because they are big or elaborate, but because they are filled with heart. Recently, Auburn Village was honored to be part of one of those moments.
Levi Moyers is one of our younger residents and he means the world to his family. When his mom, Faith, began planning her wedding, there was one thing that mattered more than anything else. Her son had to be there.
Because Levi receives care here at Auburn Village, holding the wedding at the facility was the only way to make that possible. Rather than letting that limit the day, Faith embraced it. She chose love over logistics, presence over perfection.
The ceremony was small and deeply personal. It was just Faith, her children, and the man she loves, Josh Akers. In that quiet, meaningful moment, Faith became Faith Akers, surrounded by the people who matter most.
Afterward, Faith shared how thankful she is for the care her son receives and for the way our team looks after her “buddy” each and every day. She spoke with gratitude about the compassion, attention, and kindness shown to Levi, and hearing that meant more to us than words can fully express.
This was the second wedding Auburn Village has been privileged to witness, and moments like these remind us why we do what we do. Our community is more than a place of care. It is a place where life continues, where milestones are honored, and where families are supported in ways both big and small.
To Faith and Josh, thank you for trusting us with such a meaningful day. Your love filled our building and your appreciation touched our hearts. We are grateful to have been part of your story.
Sometimes love does not look the way we first imagine it, but it always finds its way exactly where it belongs.
