At Auburn Village, we had the honor of celebrating a truly remarkable milestone this week — our beloved resident, Mamie Randolph, turned 103 years young.
From the moment she entered the room wearing her sparkling black sash proudly declaring “103 and Fabulous,” Mamie lit up the entire celebration with her smile and her signature wave. Our team came together to decorate the space, prepare her favorite treats, and make sure the day felt as special as she is. Staff baked and arranged the birthday cake, set up the party area, and welcomed her family with open arms as they joined us here at the facility.
Mamie’s great-grandson, Anthony Holmes, made the trip from Flint, Michigan, to be part of the celebration. Surrounded by family, friends, and the Auburn Village community she calls home, Mamie soaked in every moment. Anthony shared how grateful he’s been to have her in his life and how fortunate their family feels to have her cared for here.
“It’s been a blessing,” he shared. “She has a beautiful soul and a kind heart. She’s still sharp, she still moves around, and she brings joy wherever she goes. We appreciate everything this facility does to support her and show her love.”
Seeing generations of her family gather around her, laughing and reminiscing, was a touching reminder of why we do what we do. Celebrating Mamie wasn’t just about marking 103 years — it was about honoring a life full of strength, kindness, and resilience.
From all of us at Auburn Village: Happy 103rd Birthday, Mamie. You truly are fabulous. ????????
