Auburn Village Resident Celebrates 100th Birthday

September 23, 2019

Thelma Natalie Ringenberg celebrated her 100th birthday on August 18, 2019, at Auburn Village Rehab and Skilled Nursing. She was surrounded by four generations of family and friends, some who traveled from as far as Nevada and Tennessee.

Happy 100th Birthday, Thelma!

Thelma was the fifth of 10 children born to Mable and Walter Saxer of Garrett, Ind. She graduated from Garrett High School in 1937 and married her sweetheart, Miles “Mike” Ringenberg, in 1948. They had two children, Jim and JoEllen. Miles passed away in 2007.

After they married, Thelma and Miles lived in Auburn, Ind. for several years. They moved to Hamilton, Ind., where they ran Russell’s Point Mobile Home Park on Hamilton Lake, a small convenience store and gas pumps.

Upon retirement, the Ringenbergs moved back to Auburn. They enjoyed spending their winters in Sebring, Fla.
